Timothy K. Johnston DDS
Dr. Timothy Johnston has been featured on Good Morning America, recipient of the Healthcare Heroes Award, 2015 and is the official Cosmetic Dentist to the Miss. and Mrs. Virginia Pageant.
After graduating from dental school in 1989, Dr. Johnston embarked on the epic journey of building a private practice from the ground up. While he never specifically set out to inspire others to give great dental care, he always wanted to have his own practice, and he studied diligently on the best ways to do that. Since then, he’s mastered enough techniques and improved enough systems to train entire legions of dentists. And he has if you count the hundreds of dental students he taught for 17 years at his alma mater, the Medical College of Virginia, as well as the groups of practicing dentists who have attended his professional development seminars.
“I’m constantly researching materials, techniques and technology to find what’s best for our patients. I want to know what’s stronger, lasts longer, & looks better. Our patients can trust we’ve done the research.” Learn More
Michael L. Kahan, D.D.S.
“It gives me great pleasure to problem solve with my patients.”
Dr. Kahan is a native of Tidewater, Virginia. He attended the University of Richmond and received his BS degree in biology. He graduated in the top 10% of his class at Howard University College of Dentistry, earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. To solidify and advance his training Dr. Kahan then completed a voluntary one-year general practice residency at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Kahan returned to his home in Virginia Beach where he opened and continuously practiced general dentistry in his own private dental practice until 2016. After a two-year hiatus to travel and pursue other interests, he has returned to continue private practice with Dr. Johnston at Good Neighbor Dental at Great Neck. He attributes his professional success to his willingness to hear what his patients want, and his ability and commitment to exceed their expectations.
In his spare time, Dr. Kahan loves to be outdoors. You may see him doing a quick run or cruising the waterways of Tidewater in his runabout. He also enjoys snow skiing in the Blue Ridge Mountains; He and his wife, Antoinette (whom he “rescued” from New Jersey!), love spending time with their two sons and their families, including two granddaughters.
